Lucian has been a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2008. He began his career as a lawyer spending five years as Associate and then Senior Associate at one of Romania’s top 10 legal firms before co-founding a law firm serving as a Partner for the following more than 12 years. Lucian is a Managing Partner in Poenaru Legal starting with January 2025.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law – University of Bucharest (2007) and obtained a Master’s degree in Business Law (2008) from the University of Bucharest and the Franco-Romanian Law College – Paris I, Sorbonne. He has a Ph.D., summa cum laudae, with a thesis in Intellectual Property Law with the same Faculty of Law – University of Bucharest (2015).
He is proficient in intellectual property law and he focuses on new technologies and digital transformation. Starting with 2023, Lucian is a European Trademark Attorney helping clients with patent, design, and trademark registrations through both EUIPO and OSIM.
His expertise in emerging technologies is reflected in both his academic and professional contributions. He therefore serves as an external educator with both the Faculty of Law – Bucharest University and University Politehnica of Bucharest, teaching Intellectual Property Law for more than ten years. By acting as both a practitioner and an educator in this area, he offers his clients a distinct advantage. His dedication to legal education not only shapes the next generation of lawyers but also enhances his own practice, ensuring that clients receive advice that is both deeply experienced and informed by academic perspectives.
His practice also focuses on civil and commercial contracts, mergers/acquisitions and restructuring as well as daily business consultancy services. He has successfully led his team in acquisition and corporate law projects, assisting either the seller or the buyer in high value transactions and supporting them in negotiating and drafting share transfer agreements and related documentation.
For over a decade, he has been helping a major provider of medical imaging and cancer treatment services expand its network through the acquisition of private clinics in Romania. He also delivers daily legal business services to a service center of one of Europe’s largest financial services groups, which offers a diverse array of finance and accounting, human resources, IT, compliance, and “know your customer” solutions. Additionally, he provides ongoing support to a foreign broadcaster in developing its business and offers legal solutions to companies in waste and water treatment, social integration, IT, and retail sectors.

Casandra is a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2014. She graduated from the Faculty of Law – University of Bucharest and holds a Master’s Degree in Judicial Career, obtained within the same Faculty.
She is a key team-member particularly experienced in sectors requiring both technical and legal knowledge and abilities, focusing her practice on corporate law, commercial contracts, health law, media and telecommunications, as well as day-to-day client activity. She is known for a client-oriented approach that emphasizes innovative and out-of-the-box solutions.
With a comprehensive understanding of the complexities within the above sectors, she is committed to addressing the unique legal needs of each client, ensuring that their interests are effectively represented.
In the corporate sector, Casandra offers an extensive array of services, such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, dealings with relevant authorities, and contract negotiation and drafting. She has adeptly assisted clients in navigating complex cross-border transactions and financing by employing innovative strategies that not only fulfill legal obligations but also align with the clients’ long-term objectives.
Her expertise includes advising on optimal board structure, shareholder rights, internal controls, and beneficial ownership requirements. Throughout various mergers and acquisitions, Casandra provides comprehensive guidance at every stage of the transaction process, from due diligence to negotiation and closing. Additionally, she ensures the proper handling of formalities with the Trade Registry and other relevant authorities as needed.
In the telecommunications industry, Casandra supports a prominent foreign broadcaster in media, entertainment, and telecommunications. She is responsible for verifying and assessing the regulatory issues associated with the broadcasting and distribution of TV program services in Romania, including overseeing CNA broadcasting authorizations for television, ANCOM transmission licenses, technical authorizations, and contracts. She is proficient in providing assistance regarding the carriage distribution agreements made between the client and various satellite and cable distributors of Romanian program services. In addition, Casandra supports foreign clients in identifying local regulations regarding the provision of IoT services using M2M devices in Romania.
Denisa Călin

Denisa is a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2019, the same year in which she graduated from the Law Faculty of the Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest. During her years at law school, Denisa completed internships that reinforced her theoretical knowledge and gave her an insight into the legal profession.
From the moment she joined the Bucharest Bar, Denisa has been dealing with matters concerning both legal advice and assisting and representing clients in private litigation.
Denisa has gained extensive experience in the field of labor law, assisting and representing clients, employers or employees, both in negotiations between the parties for the successful resolution of disputes, but also before the courts and/or authorities with jurisdiction in the field of labor relations. Denisa has also been part of the team that realized the implementation of workplace harassment prevention procedures, assisting clients both in drafting and facilitating the implementation of internal HR procedures and actively participating in the investigation of harassment complaints.
She has been involved in mergers & acquisitions projects, assisting both the seller and the buyer for a smooth transition for clients, being involved in conducting due diligence, drafting the sale agreement and other related documents or merger documentation, and in negotiating with the opposing party to close the deal.
Denisa also provides legal advice to clients in the field of data protection, taking an active role in drafting the necessary documentation for GDPR compliance, such as memos, privacy policies, agreements between controllers and processors, responses to data subjects, etc.
Denisa managed the implementation of GDPR requirements for a European healthcare provider, handling the review of internal group-wide policies.
Denisa has represented clients before the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM), the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), before the courts in certain disputes concerning intellectual property, such as trademark conflicts or opposition of a prior right to a registered trademark, as well as litigation concerning trade secret infringement. Last but not least, in this area, Denisa has handled copyright and related rights issues, helping clients to understand their rights and the obligations they have to fulfill.
Denisa advises on the drafting and review of civil and commercial contracts, approaching each project strategically and with a perspective tailored to the clients’ needs.

Adriana is a member of the Bucharest Bar since 2019. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest and holds a Master’s degree in Labor Law, Labor Relations and Industrial Law, from the same university.
Throughout her activity, Adriana has primarily focused on providing legal consultancy in various fields of private law, focusing her expertise on labor law, offering personalized legal advice on a wide range of day-to-day employment-related matters, from preparing and reviewing individual employment contracts to assisting in the development and implementation of internal regulations and other specific policies.
Adriana has provided legal support in complex procedures such as business restructurings, hiring foreign personnel in Romania, global employee mobility and evaluating employment relationships with foreign components to determine the applicable legal framework and the resulting implications.
She has also been actively involved in disciplinary investigations and organizational restructuring, drafting legal documents required for court proceedings as well as other authorities.
Furthermore, Adriana has provided personalized legal consultancy in various commercial relationships, previously participating in complex projects in tourism and education, as well as in joint ventures and beyond, by offering legal opinions, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
